<p>Harmon C. Velie, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2021.</p> <p>Harmon was born February 8, 1955 in Berea, Ohio and raised in the Akron/Copley area. He was a graduate of Copley High School in 1973 and attended The University of Akron.&nbsp; Harmon was the epitome of a super fan. Harmon was the most adoring husband of his loving wife of 44 years and their four beautiful children. He was adored by his eight amazing grandchildren and was the greatest Papa that ever lived. Harmon was a devoted fan of Dr. Bob&#39;s Home and his beloved AA family. Most notably, he was the ultimate fan of the Browns and the Buckeyes and was rarely seen with a frown unless it was after a disappointing game.</p> <p>Harmon was a dedicated member of the St. Hilary community. He was the ultimate speaker, a man of words and wisdom. Harmon could make you laugh and make you cry; easily in the same breath. Harmon was an avid runner and golfer and lived every day to the absolute fullest. To know Harmon was to be loved by him.</p> <p>Harmon was preceded in death by his parents, June C. Velie and Roy V. Velie. He is survived and sorely missed by his wife Laraine, children Luke (Sara) Velie, Jordan (Jen) Velie, Andrea (Dan) Bell, Allison (Bob) Marquis, his brother, Dane Velie, and sister, Simone Velie. He is also survived by the loves of his life, his grandchildren Aidan, Noah, Quinn, Cameron, Annalise, Jude, Karina and Ellison.<br /> <br /> The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM, on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at St. Hilary&#39;s Parish, 2750 W. Market St., Fairlawn. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 7, 2021 at the church. A private family burial will follow.<br /> <br /> In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be sent to Dr. Bob&#39;s Home, 855 Ardmore Ave., Akron OH 44302.</p>
