Rosalba Pimienta de Maldonado was born in Bogotá Colombia to Francisco Pimienta and Rosa Emelia Daza on September 21, 1938.She Completed a College degree in Library Science in Bogotá. She then married Jose Santos Maldonado on July 11,1959. They traveled and settled in New York City with their 3 children. In late 1960s the family moved to Rockville Maryland as Jose took a semi-diplomatic position as a computer analyst with the OAS
( Organization of American States ). Rosalba embrace their new country becoming a US Citizen while there couple raised their children. Rosalba worked outside the home including providing library support to Bechtel Engineering Enterprises Gaithersburg MD for about a decade. Rosalba is a devote Catholic who visited the poor and those who fell ill . She loves children and upheld family values. She is a member of Sierra Club, Humane Society, ASPS advocating for care and mercy of animals. Her ability to listen to our troubles, warmth, generosity and love of family and friends leave a big empty space in our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her spouse Jose Maldonado and her parents.
Rosalba is survived by her daughters Dr. Adriana Maldonado-Brem, Mrs. Maria Maldonado Dunn and Mr. Bruce Dunn as well as her son: Mr. Juan Jose Maldonado. Grandchildren include Dr. Candice E. Brem, Ms. Elena Maldonado-Dunn and Mr. Matthew Brem.
