Friedrich Aschenbrenner Innisfail, Alberta Obituary

Friedrich Aschenbrenner

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Friedrich ‘Fred’ Aschenbrenner at the Rosefield Centre, Innisfail, Alberta on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the age of 90 years. Fred was born April 19, 1931 in Althuette, Romania. In October of 1951, Fred immigrated with his parents and sister to Canada. Fred worked with his parents farming in Europe, and after arriving in Alberta, he worked as a farm hand. Fred later moved to Calgary and worked for a Construction Company; and then worked for himself, building houses and doing concrete work. In early 1955, Fred met and married Anneleise ‘Anne’ on December 29 of the same year. This union was blessed with six children. One daughter and four of five boys were born in Calgary, and then the family moved west of Innisfail to the Cottonwood Gordon Area, in October of 1964, where their last son was born. Fred and his family operated a mixed farm, growing grain and hay, but his passion was specializing in breeding and showing purebred Pinzgauer and Simmental Cattle. He was a hardworking man with many accomplishments. Fred loved farming as a way of life to provide for his family. Fred leaves to mourn his daughter, Sylvia and his grandson, Jason; his five sons, Fred, and his grandsons, Jeffrey and Mark; Peter (Sylvia); Andy (Alice) and his grandchildren, Jordan, Annaliessa, Emily and Michael; Paul (Cathy) and his granddaughter, Tina; and Rodney and his grandson, Joel; as well several great grandchildren and one great, great grandson. He will also be sadly missed by his two brothers-in-law, several nieces and one nephew. Fred was predeceased by his wife, Anneleise ‘Anne’ in 2011; his parents, Josef and Anna Aschenbrenner; his three brothers, Johann, Maximillan and Hildegaard; his sister, Emilie Odersky (Klaus); his father-in-law, Oskar Hardt; his mother-in-law, Auguste Hardt; his brother-in-law, Dean; and his sister-in-law, (Piroska). The family would like to thank the staff at the Rosefield Centre for the great care they provided to our father until his passing.
