David Wampler
David Wampler of Springfield, MO went home to be with his Lord peacefully in his sleep on April 30, 2021 at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 22 days. He was born on February 08, 1939 to Harold and Mabel (Collier) Wampler in Clever, MO. David was the youngest of six children in the home. He graduated from Clever High School. On December 31, 1958 David married the love of his life, Carolyn Chastain. This union was blessed with two daughters, Lisa and Cheryl. David worked as a salesman for Anderson Parks for 33 years, and later retired. David and Carolyn loved to go RVing in their Airstream Camper. They traveled all over the United States together. He was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church in Springfield. David was also a very talented woodworker. If Carolyn showed him a picture of a piece of furniture she wanted, David would make it for her perfectly, and then he would have to make two more, one for Lisa and one for Cheryl. David was a kind, softhearted man who loved his family more than anything else. David is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Sidney, Bill, Joan and Harold Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Carolyn, his 1st daughter, as she is lovingly known as, Debbe Idleman, daughters; Lisa Turner and her significant other Fred and Cheryl Ebersole and husband David, grandchildren; Mandy Johnson and fiancé Jacob Shue, Dillon Turner and wife Jenny, Katie Ebersole and Hunter Ebersole, great grandchildren; Jameson Johnson “JJ” and Eithen Ebersole, brother; Jerry Wampler as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends. David’s infectious smile and kind heart will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association (2833 E Battlefield St, Springfield. 65804 or at www.diabetes.org) and please reference David’s name when making the donation. A Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5, 2021 form 1-2 p.m. in the chapel at Meadors Funeral Home in Clever with Funeral Services to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Mt.
