Jewell L. Taylor

Jewell L. Taylor, 76, KCMO, passed away on June 16, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospice. She was born August 23, 1941 to the union of Joe Scott and Florence (Harris) Scott in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her parents; two brothers, Rev. Herman Scott and Rev. John Lee Pickman; two sisters, Eddie Mae Jones and Elizabeth Parker; and a granddaughter, Anglea Taylor all preceded her in death.<br><br>Jewell was educated in public schools of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and was a graduate of Southeast High School where she was a cheerleader. In 1961, she moved to the Kansas City area where she made her home for over fifty years. <p>Jewell accepted at an early age and served as a church mother. She was employed as a waitress at various local restaurants throughout the city. She was united in marriage to Cleavon Taylor and to this union four children were born.</p> <p>Jewell enjoyed singing, playing the piano and dancing. She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother and caring sister who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.</p> <p>She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Cleavon Taylor II of Kansas City, MO; three daughters, Donna Taylor, Monica Morgan (Lawrence) and Veronica Iverson (Curtis) all of Kansas City, MO; two siblings, Joe A. Scott and Lucille "Lucy" Jones both of Kansas City, KS; nine grandchildren, Johnny Taylor of Minnesota, Mitchell Davis of Fulton, MO, Donisha Lofton (Dre), Lamar Davis, Katherine Lora, Ce'Etta Lora, Laquita Lora, Dunnegun Bailey (Tameka) all of Kansas City, MO and Jessarae Brown of San Antonio, TX; eighteen great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.</p> Memorial services Saturday, July 7, 3:00 p.m. at Duane E.
