John Burke Lyddane of Warrenton, Virginia. Born to eternal life on April 15, 2016 at age 90. Beloved husband of the late Emilie (Humes) for 51 years. Loving father of Patrick (Ann), Martin (Brenda), Denis (Karen) and Mary Margaret (Robert) Longtain. Grandfather of Erin, Jennifer, Kevin, Stacie, Lyddane, Robyn and Megan. Great grandfather of 6. John was a retired employee of the National Guard Bureau and Department of the Army and served with the Navy in the Pacific during World War II and the District of Columbia National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus and served as an usher for 20 years at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. He was coach for various CYO youth sports. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening April 21 between 6 and 8 pm at the Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 9;30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 271 Winchester Street, Warrenton, Va. Burial at Culpepper National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Spina Bifida Association or the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception would be appreciated.
