Carol Williamson, 82, of Brownsville died Saturday at her home. Born in Aberdeen, Washington, she was adopted by Joseph "Dick" and Alice Marie (Rassi) Bowley. Carol lived in Long Beach, California until 1944 when the family moved to Brownsville. With the exception of college years in Eugene and 5 years in Halfway and Cottage Grove, she spent the majority of her life on or near the family farm in Brownsville. Carol received her bachelor's degree in education from Oregon College of Education, and worked as a teacher and in real estate, as well as her full time occupations as wife, mother and farmer. Carol was a life-long member of the Brownsville Christian Church. She married Harold Williamson on June 29, 1952 in Brownsville. He preceded her in death in 2007. Survivors include daughters Laurel Morris of Wasilla, Alaska, Beth Verheyden of Boring and Coleen Garrett of Hillsboro; sons Martin Williamson of Albany, Mont Williamson of Newport Coast, California, and Joe Williamson of Lebanon; half-brothers Bill and Mike Adams; half-sisters Dorothy Holman and Patty Haas, all originally of Washington; 20 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold and sister Barbara Cleveland. A memorial service will be at 11am Saturday April 30th at Brownsville Christian Church.
