Ms. Linda Sue Blackburn, 73, passed peacefully with her family, Friday April 9, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas. Linda was born March 7, 1948 in Whitter, California to Lee and Betty Blackburn. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1950. Linda married her husband, James Johnson on March 29, 1966. They would later divorce but would remain friends. They had two sons, David Dwayne Johnson, born September 25, 1966 and 18 months later had Bobby Wayne Johnson born April 30, 1968. Linda chose to be a stay-at-home mom until he sons finished school. She enjoyed cooking, working in her yard and spending time with her family. Once her sons graduated and left home to start their own lives, Linda set her sights on a career. She had several jobs over the years that she loved and worked hard at. She enjoyed her time at Radio Shack Corporation, as a Sr. Traffic Coordinator where she was able to work with her daughter in law, Felicia. She also worked for Bombay Company, in Advertising and Plasma Alliance, where she was employee of the year in 1992. Linda would move around the corner from her son, David in Burleson. There were many times the grandchildren would ride their bikes over to hang out, help her in her yard or just spend time with her. Linda would be placed on Dialysis after having to repair an aneurysm. She then retired to take time to enjoy family and fiends. Being on dialysis did not slow her down, she still went to her appointments 3 days a week whole on oxygen, was a cancer survivor in 2020, she also lived with and took care of her 94 year old father. She never let anything slow her down, she gave all she had all the time. Linda is preceded in death by her son, Bobby Johnson; mother, Betty Blackburn; brother, Steve Blackburn and grandparents. Linda is survived by her son, David Johnson, wife Felicia; grandchildren, James Johnson, wife Kayla, Patric Ongley, wife Christa, Dusttan Ongley and James Mitchell, father; Lee Blackburn; brother Mike Blackburn, wife Kathie; sister-in-law, Dolores Blackburn, along with 8 great grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial to celebrate Lind's life will be held at Skyvue Funeral Home, located in Mansfield on May 7, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. John 11:25-26 " Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die."
