It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Edwin “Ross” Mayo of Creston North, NL, announces his passing at his home in Creston North, NL, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the age of 71.

Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 48 years, Sheila, daughter Shelley Doyle (Patrick), Mount Pearl, son Todd (Karen), Burin; grandchildren Brody and Tara, sister Marie Hollett, Burin, sister in law Linda Chatman (Everett), Marystown; nieces Janice Brake (Dale), Edmonton, AB, Tina Farrell (Dwayne), New Brunswick, Uncle Abel Mayo, Creston North; his best friends Violet and Reuben Rogers, Creston South; and a large number of extended family and friends.

Ross is predeceased by his parents James Joseph and Melinda Mayo, brothers Alex, Rex, and Baby Mayo; parents in law Gordon and Jenny Pardy, and brother in law Ladner Hollett.

A special thank you to Public Health Nurse Lori McCarthy with Eastern Health for her care and compassion for Ross during his illness .

The Mayo Family will be accepting visitors at Peninsula Funeral Home in Creston South on Wednesday, April 28th, from 7 – 9 pm, and Thursday, April 29th, from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. A maximum of 50 people at any one time is permitted in the building. In order to maintain social distancing and to follow the public health advisory of COVID 19, a walk through visitation will take place on. A funeral service will be held at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm.

As per COVID – 19 regulations, everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the building and masks are required. Please note that there is no food permitted in the building.
