Jerome Isaiah Gonzales, age 20, beloved son, grandson and brother peacefully passed away and went to be with the Lord on Friday April 9, 2021. He was born on December 3, 2000, to Phillip Gonzales and Cassandra Martinez, in Española New Mexico. 
Jerome attended Northern New Mexico College and studied in Nursing. He had a heart of gold and was loved by all who knew him. He was known for his gently kind spirit, and his great sense of humor also singing of his many humorous songs. He was photogenic and was never shy. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, outdoor sports, loved football, basketball and loved playing his video games and most of all he loved being his grandmother Teresa‘s companion and being a big brother. 
He was preceded in death by Gavino B. Martinez, Phillip Gonzales, Nelson Gonzales, Lala Gonzales and Horace Montoya. He is survived by his Mother, Cassandra Martinez and companion, Leon Gallegos, Grandmothers, Teresa Martinez and Elsie Martinez , step dad, Matthew Martinez, brother, Andres Martinez, sisters, Armani Martinez, Samantha Gonzales-Viarrial, Katrina Gonzales, Savannah Martinez, Renee, Erica Gonzales and Stephanie Gonzales-Martinez. God-Parents, Alex Martinez and Dynette Martinez. His best friend for over fifteen years, Eric Archuleta and also Kevin Romero. 
He will be deeply missed by his his family, friends and all who knew him. 

A public visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. 
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church in Canjilon, NM at 11:00a.m. Burial will proceed after mass in Canjilon NM and a reception will follow after funeral mass.

Serving the family as pallbearers are Andres Martinez, Alex Martinez, Jeremy Lopez, Teddy Barela, Matthew Martinez, Kevin Romero, Johnny Baca and Walter (Goosy) Rodriguez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Armani Martinez, Savannah, Renee, Samantha and Katrina.
