Angela Nelthropp Ewer, age 84, of Damascus Rd. Branford, passed away on January 28, 2017 of natural causes. She lived her adult life by the seashore and was predeceased by her husband Jasper Franklin Ewer. She had a great love for knowledge, writing, art, and music. She sang opera in her youth and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Connecticut State University. She was known in Branford for her excellence in teaching and was inducted in the Branford Education Hall of Fame on April 27, 2006. She is survived by her son Jay Ewer of Suffield, CT and her daughter Angela Beckerman of Branford, as well as her younger sister Joan Marie Haversat of Guilford. She is also survived by her grandchildren Lauren Kaechele of Shelton , CT, Ashley Beckerman of New Britain, and Brian Beckerman of Manhattan, New York. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Branford. Burial of her urn will follow the service at Branford Center Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
