Jason J. Ruffing
<p>Jason J. Ruffing 40, of Attica, passed away Wednesday April 21, 2021, at Mercy Health St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, after a brief battle with COVID-19.</p> <p>He was born February 9, 1981 to Gerry and Pam (Albright) Ruffing, and they both survive.</p> <p>Survivors include his parents, Gerry (Marlene) Ruffing of Attica, and Pam (Gene) Smith of Willard, four sisters, Heather (Frank) Carter of Attica, Taylor (Taylor) Wright of Westerville, Jill (Joe) Stanley of Republic, and Abby Daniel of Norwalk, three brothers, Billy (Tiff) Robinson of Willard, Nick (Alisha) Smith and Adam Smith both of Danville, Virginia, several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and close friends. Jason also leaves behind his beloved emotional support dog Fel.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilbur and Martha Ruffing and Gerald and Bernece Albright all of Attica, and a brother Chad Smith of Danville, Virginia.</p> <p>Jason was a 2000 graduate of Willard High School. He worked in Bellevue for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad as an engineer. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica. He loved to cook and grill while he was camping at Tall Timbers Camp grounds, and he taught CCW classes in his spare time.</p> <p>A masked and social distancing walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday April 25, 2021, from 2-5 pm at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, 3085 S. State Route 19, Bloomville.</p> <p> A masked funeral service for Jason will be held at 11:00 am., Monday April 26, 2021, at the Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, Bloomville, with Rev. Ron Spyker officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Attica.</p> <p>Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
