WASHINGTON - Mary Kathryn Thieme, 85, of Washington, IL, died at 2:20 pm Monday, April 19, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. Born on October 15, 1935 in Quincy, IL to Joseph and Lucille Mueller Bohne, she married Arman Roan on April 11, 1953 in Quincy. She later married Bob Thieme on March 28, 1980 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2013 in Metamora, IL. Surviving are 7 children; Dennis (Lisa) Roan of Presque Isle, WI, Dave (Deborah) Roan and Kim (Steve) Chapman, both of Washington, IL, Beth (Bob) Boehme and LouAnn (Dave) Pavlik, both of Morton, IL, and Mike (Kathy) Roan and Kathy (Joe) Lee, both of Washington, IL, 4 step-children; Bob Thieme of Milford, UT, John Thieme and Becky (Jim) Holmes, both of Washington, IL and Theresa (Cathy) Thieme of Hampton, VA, 31 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters. Mary worked as a receiving clerk at Kmart in Washington for 10 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Washington and the church Women’s Guild. She and Bob were also members of Izaak Walton League in Spring Bay, the East Peoria Boat Club, and Kennel Lake Sportsman Club in Morton. A funeral mass for Mary will be at 10:30 am Saturday, April 24, 2021 at St. Patrick Church in Washington. Father John Steffen will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 am at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen.
