Obituary
Alma L. Cox-Chadwick, 87, of Battle Creek, went to her heavenly home on April 19, 2021 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. One of seven children born to Dillard and Laura (Flatt) Buckner, Alma was born on June 4, 1933 in Monterey, Tennessee. After her family moved to Michigan, Alma met and married Haskell “Earl” Cox on April 19, 1948; together they had four children and were able to celebrate 49 years of marriage before his passing in 1997. In May of 2002 Alma wed Luther Chadwick, he passed in 2015. Alma looked forward to services at church and loved to travel to church conferences every year. Her laugh and her Monterey Tennessee accent will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Alma’s faith and family were the most important things in her life. Preceding Alma is both of her husbands; her parents; her siblings, Dorothy Cox, Vestal Buckner, Burton Buckner, James Buckner, Della Vanderpool, and Edith Barner. She is survived by her children, Paulette (Tim) Julien of Grand Rapids, Kathy Banaszak of Battle Creek, Russell (Debbie) Cox of East Leroy, and Phyllis Cox of Battle Creek. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, her twelve great-grandchildren, and her eight great-great- grandchildren. Services to celebrate Alma’s life will take place Thursday, April 22, 2021 at The Potter’s House Church at 1:00 p.m. with a time of visitation beginning at Noon. Entombment will follow the funeral at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
