Robert Vincent Ferretti, 74, of Glen Rock New Jersey died on Sunday April 18, 2021. Bob was born and raised in Queens, NY and lived 40+ years in Glen Rock, NJ, where he raised his family. Bob was a decorated Viet Nam war veteran. He received a Bronze Star and 2 Purple Hearts and served during the TET Offensive. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America as well as veterans supporting veterans in the LZ HOPE Group. Bob was a competitive athlete. He loved playing and watching all sports, particularly basketball. He was never afraid to try something new including boxing in the NYC Golden Gloves or spending time in the sun in the Dominican Republic immersing himself in the culture and language. Bob was a hard worker. During his working career of 40+ years, he was an active member of the Pressman’s Union. Bob had a heart of gold. He had a love for life and his family that was unsurpassed. Bob fought nothing short of a courageous battle against a terrible cancer – showing optimism, perseverance, resilience and above all courage to what was presented before him. Robert was the beloved husband of the late Katherine Spinka Ferretti. He was the loving father of Michael Ferretti of Glen Rock, Thomas Ferretti of Pennsylvania and Justin Ferretti of Glen Rock. He was the loving son of the late James and Concetta Ferretti. He was the loving brother of the late Dr. James Ferretti, loving brother of Eugene Ferretti and his wife Claire of Florida, loving brother of Dr. John Ferretti and his wife Christine. He was also the loving brother to sister Barbara Gomes Sikes and her husband David of Arizona and loving brother to sister Annemarie Calogrias and her husband Peter of Water Mill. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 pm on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the Browning–Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue in Hawthorne, NJ. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30am on Saturday April 24, 2021 at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Hawthorne (meeting at church). Cremation will be private.
