James Keith Ullmann Obituary

James Keith “Jim” Ullmann, 76, of Johnstown passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at University Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on the family farm in Johnstown on April 5, 1945 to John and Grace (Freauff) Ullmann. Jim was raised in Johnstown, graduating the first class from Roosevelt High School in 1963. He then attended Colorado State University for two years before leaving to San Antonio for Air National Guard basic training. He served from December 1965 to January 1971. On May 28, 1967, he married Sherry Moore at the Loveland United Methodist Church. Jim started farming with his father, uncle and brother at a young age, helping on family farms in Johnstown and Briggsdale until 1984. In 1984, he started working for Weld County Title, serving over 20 years before retiring. He loved time with his family, attending CU football and basketball games, going to breweries and wineries. As a youngster, he enjoyed fast, sports cars and later in life trading cars every couple of years. Jim was the lead singer in two bands with his cousins and friends for several years after graduating high school. In 2002/2003, Jim was awarded the Greeley Area Realtor Association Affiliate of the Year and was also a past member of Colorado Cattle Feeders, Loveland Elks Lodge, Longmont Sirloin Club and Northern Colorado Buff Club. Thankful to have shared his life are his wife, Sherry; son, Gregg and daughter, Staci (DJ) Emmons; step-grandchild, Riley Emmons as well as numerous special nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Stephanie and siblings, Patricia Truesdell and John E. Ullmann. Jim’s friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at Adamson Life Celebration Home, Greeley. Private inurnment will be held at the Johnstown Cemetery. A Life Celebration will be held later in 2021. Memorial gifts may be made to “CU Anschutz Urologic Cancer Research Fund” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
