Robert J. Weimerskirch 81, of Bascom, died Monday, April 19, 2021, at his residence.  He was born April 11, 1940, in Tiffin to Chester and Mildred (Smith) Weimerskirch.

Survivors include two sons, Mark (Shannon) Weimerskirch of New Albany, Matthew (Amanda) Weimerskirch of Tiffin, a daughter Lisa (John) Hilbert of Cincinnati; 10 grandchildren, Heather, Hayli, Hans, Gabriella, and Chase Weimerskirch, Max, Sam, Joseph and Elise Hilbert, and Autumn Pryor; two great grandchildren, Kennedy True and Jacek Castilla, a brother Steve Weimerskirch of Texas, and special friends Phyllis Bentz, Mike Silva, Charles Oberlin, Bill Schoonover; and his constant canine companions, Bear and Elk.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Donald and Lee Weimerskirch.

Robert was a 1958 Calvert High School graduate; in 1961 he received his Bachelor of Commercial Science from Tiffin University.

He was employed by the United States Treasury Department as an Internal Revenue Agent from 1961 – 1981.  He was currently associated with Institutional Care Pharmacy (ICP) and Oberlin Processing both of Tiffin. He was associated with his brothers and parents in the operation of the family restaurant, Wyme’s in downtown Tiffin. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Phi Theta Pi Honorary Fraternity, and the Tiffin Elks Lodge 94 and was a Past Exalted Ruler and Secretary of the Lodge for eight years.   He formerly was a member of the Clinton Twp. Fire Department, a former Registered Public Accountant in Ohio, and a Notary Public since 1961.

There will be no visitation.

The funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. The Rosary will be recited at church 30 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Seneca County.  Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory 214 S.
