It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of a beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister in Sudbury on Saturday April 17, 2021 at the age of 82. Daughter of the late Donat and late Lucienne (née Bazinet) Ethier. Beloved wife of Jean-Paul predeceased in 1982. Loving mother of Michel (Gail predeceased), Nicole Chrétien (Denis), Fern (Lynne) and Gisèle Mayer (Ron). Cherished grandmother of Yvan predeceased, Richard, Céline (Jay), Julie (Mitch), Tina (Bryan), Aaron, Jessica (Curtis), James and Maxine both predeceased, Meleny, Tanya, Maryssa, Anthony, Mercedes and Ashton. Great-grandmother of Kayla, Tyler, Eve, Dominic, Damien, Callie and Tessa. She will be fondly remembered by her siblings Noella Laforest (Albert predeceased), Marguerite Laforest (Harry predeceased), Jeannine and Leonard Mallette both predeceased, Roland Ethier (Jacqueline), Hervé Ethier predeceased (Lorraine), Conrad Ethier predeceased (Monique), Claudette Brisebois, Gérald Ethier predeceased, Armand Ethier (Muriel predeceased) and Suzanne Carriere (Gerry). Rachelle will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and her many friends at Pioneer Manor. The family would like to thank all the staff at Pioneer Manor York for their compassion, kindness and dedication towards our mother. There will be a scheduled visitation by invite only, followed by a service in the Chapel at the Cooperative Funeral Home, Sudbury. Due to the current pandemic, there is a limitation on number of attendees and everyone must wear a mask.
