Vera June Hitchcock, 86 of Smyrna, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at her home. She was born Monday, May 14, 1934 in Gainesboro, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Gurstle and Bryan Lucille Loftis Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Jan Shuster and an infant brother, Joe Bryan Bailey. Survivors include: Husband of 70 years- Frank Lee Hitchcock of Smyrna, TN Daughter- Kaye Bise of Smyrna, TN Granddaughter- Jocelyn Jones (Greg) of Smyrna, TN Great-Grandchildren- Jayden Jones and Adyson Jones Brother- Larry Bailey (Elwanda) of Blountville, TN Brother-in-Law- Bill Shuster of Cookeville, TN Nephews- Alan Bailey of Sparta, TN and Tim Shuster of Cookeville, TN Nieces- Nora Bailey Mott of Sparta, TN and Dana Bailey Paul of Brentwood, TN Several great-nephews and great-nieces also survive. Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery with Dwight Fuqua officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America by mail 188 N Main St, Doylestown, PA 18901 or online https://dementiasociety.charityproud.org/donate The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice nurses and caregivers of Avalon that took such good care of Mrs. June.
