He was born in Vancouver, WA to Orville Sr and Marian Black Seifert. He married his high school sweetheart Marlene Johnson in 1955. He grew up in Clark and Cowlitz County and graduated from Woodland High School in 1955. Bud enlisted in the Coast Guard, and became a Dental Technician, travelling between WA and Or. He was honorably discharged in 1959, and went to work for his father, driving a beer truck. He took over the business when his dad retired, serving Clark & Skamania Counties. He later partnered with his son, Tom, and purchased the Distributorship in Klickitat County, Goldendale, WA, where they sold Rainier & Coors Beer, plus other brands. Bud was very active in activities to support his business and his community. He was President of the WA St Beer & Wine Wholesalers & Rocky Mountain Beer Association’s; He was a Vancouver Chamber of Commerce Member and their President for two terms. He was on the City of Vancouver 4th of July Committee, Boundary Review Board; Fire Commissioner Dist. 6; and many others. As a young man Bud was very athletic, playing Baseball, Basketball & Football in High School. Bud was one of the 1st recipients of the Woodland Athletic Hall of Fame. Bud & Marlene raised their 4 children and celebrated the births of 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Bud is survived by his wife of 65.7 years, Marlene and children Thomas (deceased), wife Judy, Kathryn, William & Barbara; grandchildren Kimberly (James), Alanda, Spencer, Christopher, Kati, & Raymond; great grandchildren Kaiden, Kallan, Stori, Brian and Bria. His Sister DeYonne Swenson (Noel), and her children and many other close relatives. Bud loved to travel and visited most of our states, including Minnesota where Marlene is from and earned himself a lot of extra friends. He travelled to Europe, Great Britain, Scandinavia, Spain & the Canary Islands, Australia & New Zealand. Bud played softball as an adult – in one game he hit four home runs and was so tired by the fourth one he couldn’t run the bases! He acquired many new friends through these activities. Actually, Bud collected friends all his life! He loved hunting and fishing, and spent many trips to Elfin Cove, AK, in one trip he caught a 250#, followed by a 170# halibut. Bud had a zest for life and an interest in everything and everyone around him. We were all touched by his kindness and leadership. He always made time to listen and help. We will miss his phone calls and visits but he will be remembered by all those he touched and will remain loved by many. RIP Bud.
