George Homer Paquin Obituary

George Homer Paquin, age 92, of Fleming Island, Florida, passed away on April 9, 2021. He was born in Willimantic, Connecticut to Edith and Leo Paquin on April 28, 1928. George was the beloved husband of Dolores (Bouchard) Paquin who predeceased him on December 8, 2012. He was father and father-in-law to Stephen (Mary Grace) Paquin, Bryan (Mary) Paquin, Diane (Bruce) Paquin Ayres, and Kathleen (Scott) Paquin Gray. Grandfather to Bryan (Kayla) Paquin Jr. Trevor Gray and Haley (Jason) Behr. Great-Grandfather to Jaxon and Cole Paquin. George is also survived by three sisters (better known as the golden girls): Lillian Sullivan, Claire Morrissey, Ann Grota Libert, and two brothers: Bob Paquin and Timothy Paquin. Life will not be the same without George singing and his beautiful smile! He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who could make him light up. His sisters, who would make him laugh uncontrollably, and his brothers who he loved very much. George often told stories about his older brother Leo who he always admired. They grew up singing wherever they went. Both were Grand Knights in the Knights of Columbus at the same time, and both served in the Navy. George completed two tours of duty including the Korean War. Words cannot express the heartache by the world’s loss of this wonderful friend and man. Everyone who knew him, loved him. His smile would light up the room. A mass will be held Monday, April 26th at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 7190 US-17, Fleming Island, FL 32003. Burial will be directly after the service at Jacksonville Memorial Gardens 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073 In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
