Donnie Mashburn Trantham

Canton, Donnie Mashburn Trantham, age 71, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Watauga Medical Center in Boone, NC. A native of Andrews, NC, she had resided in Haywood County most of her life and was the daughter of the late Julius L. and Allie Tabor Mashburn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Trantham who died in 2006; and a sister, Grace Hall. Donnie was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons, Reverend Jimmy Trantham and his wife, Susan, of Clyde; Charles Trantham and his wife, Martha, of Cruso and Ricky Trantham of Canton; a daughter, Annette Childers, of Hendersonville; six sisters, Leona Burnette of Bethel, Doris Pressley of Bethel, Judy Messer, of Hendersonville, Darlene Long of Cruso, Deann Noland, of Georgia and Kathy Clark, of Lake Logan; one brother, J.L. Mashburn of Burlington; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2010 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Bruce Cayton, Reverend Jimmy Trantham and Jason Trantham officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton where she will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
