Obituary
Randall R. Padgett went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 10, 2021. Randy was born to Lyle and Floy (Hart) Padgett on January 21, 1941, in Watertown, SD. Randy went to Watertown High School, and Hub City Bible Institute, which is now Trinity Bible College. He met his wife, Janice (Schrader) Padgett, while attending Hub City Bible. They had three children Janna Rae, Tim, and Todd. Grace joined the family in 1982 as a foreign exchange student from the Dominican Republic. Following college, Randy lived in Hot Springs, SD and worked as the Parts Manager at Schot’s Chevrolet in Hot Springs, SD. He then moved to New Castle, Wyoming where he was the Parts Manager at Berman Motors. In 1968 he moved to Aberdeen, SD and began his own car lot, Padgett Auto Sales, where he worked for 50 years. Randy had a great love for his Savior Jesus Christ and had a servant’s heart. He was active at his church and loved his church family. He served on the church board and was active in various capacities. He served on the Salvation Army Board and was active in Kiwanis and Toast Masters. Randy also served on the Native American College Board in Mobridge, SD for several years. He served with five presidents on the board at Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND. He was an avid reader, enjoyed bike riding, traveling, trimming trees and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Randy had a great sense of humor, a love for others, and a great desire to tell others about Jesus Christ’s love for them. Randy is survived by his wife Jan, his two daughters Janna Rae (Tim), Grace, his two sons Tim (Angee), and Todd (Krista), fifteen grandchildren, one great-grandson, and one soon to be great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister Janice (Jim) Kirby, brother Ron (Karen) Padgett, sister-in-law Charlene Padgett, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Lyle, mother Floy, brother Roy, and two infant siblings. The celebration of Randy’s life will be held 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Aberdeen First Assembly of God, with Pastor Gary Wileman officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 pm Tuesday, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St.
