Mary Elizabeth Gorsuch Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Gorsuch, 89, of Sykesville, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at her daughter’s home. Born February 13, 1932 in Randallstown, MD, she was the ninth in a family of 12 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bessie (Shipley) Nickoles. She was the wife of the late Gilbert L. Gorsuch, who predeceased her May 5, 2002. Mary was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She and her husband Gilbert loved to travel, and as the wife of a career Naval Master Chief Petty Officer, Mary lived abroad for many years and visited numerous countries. She loved to dance and spent many evenings at the Moose Club in Westminster with friends and family. She loved to collect Lladros and relics of places she lived and visited, and was especially fond of angels and cardinals. The loss of Gilbert was heartbreaking for Mary as they were truly devoted to one another. May she find peace and comfort with the Lord and in her reuniting with Gilbert. She is survived by her children Dave; Rick and his wife Karen; Kim Weedon and her husband Gary; former son-in-law Cherif Ladjabi; grandchildren Jordan Gorsuch; Noah Ladjabi; Allie Gorsuch; Joey Ladjabi; Amanda Berman and her husband Alex; Mark Weedon; Taylor Weedon; and Matthew Weedon; and many nieces and nephews. Mary is also survived by sister Margaret Green, brother Roland Nickoles, and sisters-in law Ola Mae Nickoles, Marlene Nickoles, and Diane Nickoles. In addition to Gilbert, she was predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law William Nickoles and Dorothy Reisberg, Albert and Evelyn Nickoles, sisters and brothers-in-law Mildred and William Welsh, Mae and Charles Brady, Teresa and Frank Grimes, Sr., Hilda and Charles Greenwalt, Dorothy and Shirley Koontz, and brothers Joseph Nickoles, and Charles Nickoles. The family will welcome friends on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 16th at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg MD 21784.
