<p>Elkin, NC</p> <p>April 9, 2021</p> <p>Mr. James William &ldquo;Jimmy&rdquo; Smith, age 54, of Elkin passed away at his home on Friday morning April 9, 2021.&nbsp; He was born in Surry County on December 19, 1966, to Carol Lee Carter Smith, and to the late Wayne Jackson Smith.&nbsp; He was retired from Floyd Pike and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Surviving is the love of his life and caregiver Ginger Stanley Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Jake and Meredith Smith, step-daughter, Maranda McMillian and Mike Golding; step-son, Phillip and Sunny Chrismon; grandchildren, Owen, Kinna, Maeyvn McMillian; Charlotte Chrismon; mother, Carol Lee Carter Smith and his special father and mother-in-law, Arlin and Edna Jean Stanley.&nbsp; Jimmy also had several nieces and nephews: Ashley, Aaron, Kayla and Jerimiah. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister, Lisa L. Smith, uncle Bill Smith and grandma Ruth Smith.&nbsp; A celebration of life will be held at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church on Monday evening at 6:00 PM.&nbsp; Rev. Glinard Lawson will officiate the service.&nbsp; There will be no formal services held at Moody-Davis Funeral Home.&nbsp; A private graveside will be held at a later date. The family would like to give a special thanks to Debbie Ford, Greg Anderson and the entire Mountain Valley Hospice family for taking such good care of Jimmy. &nbsp;Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Smith family.&nbsp;</p> <p>Due to COVID restrictions, the family requests all attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing.</p> <p>Online condolences may be made at&nbsp;www.moodyfuneralservices.com</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
