Bennett Amos Pendleton, Marshfield, Missouri, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, on April 9th, 2021 at the age of 74. Bennett was born on August 19th, 1946 to Bennett A. Pendleton Sr. and Edna Faye (Slone) Pendleton in Jefferson City, Missouri, He attended Dixon High School, Dixon, Missouri. He went on to further his education at Harvard. In Massachusetts, Oxford, in England, Drury College, in Springfield, Missouri, Western Illinois University, in Macomb, Illinois, Florissant Community College, in St. Louis, Missouri, Northwest College, in Powell Wyoming, and Washington University, in St. Louis, Missouri. He then went on to enlist in the United States Army as an MP in Germany. He worked at Fenn Art Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico, The Southern Pacific Railroad, Houston, Texas, The Missouri, Kansas, Texas Railroad, Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the most recent was owner/operator of Pendleton’s Fine Art Gallery, Marshfield, Missouri. He was involved in the Sons of the American Revolution, and numerous gun clubs. Bennett’s parents, Bennett and Faye Pendleton, a brother, Bob Pendleton, sister, Lula Fabyanic, and nephews Ronnie Pendleton and Val Fabyanic preceded him in death. Bennett is survived by his sons, Tony (Glenda) Emmons and their children, John, Dakota, and Cole, and Mark (Jeanne) Lafferty and their children, Jessica, Shaun, and Scott, 7 great-grandchildren, sister, Shirley Helton, Dixon, Missouri, nieces and nephews, Rob Pendleton, Shelia Copeland, Susan Foster, Jani Humiston, and numerous great- nieces and nephews, special friends, Barbara Wehrman, Ron Peck, and Elizabeth Adkins. He enjoyed hunting, research of US History, avid reader, Political commentary via social media, writing, traveling the US and abroad, in his earlier years he participated in bull and bronc riding and team roping, meeting people in his travels, genealogy research, spending time with his children and grandchildren were his greatest joy. Bennett will be missed by all who knew and loved him. There are no services at this time.
