John M. Vlastelic

John Mathew Vlastelic, 70, of Grass Range, MT passed away Friday, April 9, 2021.  John was born in Lewistown, MT on May 8, 1950 to Matt J. and Florence Mae (Foran) Vlastelic.  He attended school in Grass Range graduating in 1968.  John served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1968 until being honorably discharged in 1978.  He also served for three years in the Army Reserves.  John held numerous jobs throughout the years.  He worked for the Department of Transportation, was a carpenter, a ranch hand, and a cook.  John was a well-educated man and loved to read and woodworking.  He was a member of the Lions Club and American Legion.  John is survived by his siblings, Barbara (Gene) Embrey, Dorothy (Dean) Kovacich, Mike (Deb) Vlastelic, Florence Griffith, Frances (Jerry) Warzeha, Chuck Vlastelic, Harry (Chris) Vlastelic, Bill Vlastelic, and Zora (Ritchie) Miller; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Matt J. and Florence Vlastelic; grandparents, Matt L. and Zora Vlastelic, Charlie and Hazel Foran; sister, Rose Roe; and brother-in-law, Lewie Griffith.  Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at the Grass Range Cemetery.  Memorial donations are requested to the Grass Range Ambulance, the D.A.V.
