William Lloyd Borden, Jr.; aka Bill; aka Junior; aka Billy; aka Lloyd, was born on December 13, 1948 in New Bern, North Carolina. Born the second oldest of 7 siblings, Bill has always made his family a top priority.

Bill was a quintessential family man - a protector, a provider, a leader who was loving, kindhearted, mild tempered, and relished family time. Even during his illness, he was concerned about his family's emotional, mental and physical well-being.

Bill was not your typical man. In fact, he was an extraordinary man who took great pleasure in making his ''Word" his "Bond" and even greater pleasure in his pursuit after God.

Bill accepted Christ at an early age and joined all the churches in the area, as his pursuit of Christ began. He served faithfully in the following ministries: Praise Team and Greeters (Clarksburg Church of God), Sunday Schoo l Teacher & Trustee (Damascus Church of God), and last but not least while serving un der the dynamic leadership at Inter-Denominational Church of God from April 2011-April 2021, Bill served in the New Members Care Ministry, Usher Ministry, FRONTLINE Disciples Men's Ministry, and as Head of the Greeters Ministry. He was ordained as a Deacon on June 14, 2015.

Bill was employed at Howard University for twenty years as a Data Center Shift Supervisor, until he retired in 1998. Even after retiring he continued to work part-time at various jobs for personal fulfillment. Up until October 2020 he worked at Holy Cross Hospital where he loved his work and his coworkers even more.

Bill quietly transitioned from labor to rest with his family at his side on Thursday, April 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Martha Odessa Borden, a sister, Cheryl B. Fisher, a brother, Roosevelt D. Borden (Gail), and a niece, Stephanie Wright. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife of twenty-two years, Pamela Borden, two daughters, Lindsay Borden and Amani Pierce, one granddaughter on the way Aurora Leigh Orloff, a sister, Sandra Borden Ellison, four brothers: Willie Borden (Vivian), Larry Borden (Iris), Russell Borden (Joyce),Jeffrey Borden (Ann), cousin/brother Marion Curry (Diane), an aunt, Thelma Chadwick, ex-wife, Deborah Borden, ex-wife, Jackie Alston, and a host of relatives and friends.

Bill will be immensely missed by all, especially at church where he greeted everyone with a warm smile and family gatherings where he was the life of the party.
