On March 31, 2021 Clare Rawlings, 79, of Baltimore MD passed away. Beloved wife of Oliver Rawlings, devoted for 30+ years; cherished daughter of the late John W Focht and Mary C Focht; loving mother of John Eric Irwin, Donald Irwin Jr. and his wife Dawn, Laura Irwin and David Irwin and his wife Sarah; grandmother of Zachary, Donald, Dominic, Grace, Reagan and Riley; dear sister of Mary Catherine Overmeyer and her husband Robert; and the late Wilfred Focht and Richard Focht; Stepmother to Starletta Miller and Kellye Rawlings; also survived by other family friends and cherished pets.

Clare loved all creatures great and small. She was uninhibited, silly, fun, passionate and creative. She enjoyed spending time with family, crafts, reading, gardening, and the outdoors. A born caregiver, she found a perfect match in nursing. Anyone loved by Clare knew she would always come to their aid if needed, no questions asked. Her superpower, selflessness. To her family, she was a superhero, to be wrapped in her cape of love was the greatest gift, a treasure that will never be forgotten. She accepted each of her children for who they were, celebrating and defending their differences.

Clare found joy in everyday occurrences and found humor in life that could be heard in her laughter, something she shared with all who spent time with her.

Clare’s ability to value the details of life, to embrace the everyday and know that loving and being loved in return is an everlasting gift, reflected in all those she loved. Hallelujah!

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Clare’s life at the family owned Evans Life Celebration Home in Parkville-8800 Harford Rd. Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 2-4PM & 6-8PM. A funeral Mass will be held at St Rita’s Church of Dundalk on April 14th at 10AM.
