Eva Gray McClamroch, 88, of Thomasville, NC, died on April 6, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Lexington, NC.

   Eva was born on October 28, 1932 in Haywood County, North Carolina, the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. R.G. McClamroch.

   In life Eva graduated from Landis High School, attended Pfeiffer College in Meisenheimer, NC, received a Bachelor’s degree from Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC, and a Master’s degree from Scarritt College in Nashville, TN.

   Eva worked as a Christian Education Director at First Methodist Church in Sarasota, FL and at Arlington Methodist Church in Jacksonville, FL before joining the teaching profession in 1970.  Miss McClamroch taught at Ribault Senior High School and Wolfson High School until her retirement in 1997.

   After retirement Eva volunteered at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL, serving a year as a president of the Auxiliary, and at Arlington United Methodist Church.  In 2013 Eva moved to Thomasville, NC where she was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

   Eva is survived by her brother, Calvin McClamroch of Thomasville, NC, and five nephews; Bryant (Mary) and Kent (Tammy) of Mocksville, NC, Randy (Sherry) and Terry (Renee) of Thomasville, NC, and Chuck (Joy) of Lee Summit, MO.

   A graveside service for Eva will be held at Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm.  Pastor Tim Starbuck will officiate the service.
