Shawn Campbell-Singh was one of two children born to the late Vernice "Cookie" Jackson of Far Rockaway, NY on August 23,1968. On April 2 2021 after a short illness the Lord called Shawn home to his Loving Arms. Shawn was joined in Holy Matrimony in 1988 to Mayhendra "Roy" Singh. Shawn lived her life to the fullest each day. Shawn had a loving, soft, and gentle spirit and was loved by everyone she met. Shawn was a proud Cheerleader, a stellar student at Beach Channel HS and was inducted in the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor society during college. Shawn obtained her Associates degree from La Guardia Comm. College and soon after she went to work for the NYC Dept. of Human Resources (59th Street) for 10 yrs. Though Shawn loved "The Big Apple" and living on the Beach she longed for more. Shawn left her beloved home of NYC with her precious children by her side and relocated to Maryland to start a new life. Shawn started working as a Supervisor of the Office of Pharmacy for the State of Maryland where she worked for the last 15 yrs. and was loved by her many co-workers. During that time Shawn obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Psychology from Walden University and was currently working on her Ph.D. Shawn received many, many awards at work and at College. Shawn truly loved and served the Lord, On June 5th 2005 Shawn was baptized by the Late Apostle Lawrence Larson whom she loving referred to as her Spiritual Father. Under his leadership he led her to start preaching and it was there she started a prison outreach ministry. On August 8 2010 Shawn was ordained as an Evangelist. Shawn was known to go out with her church family and sisters in Christ to do street ministry. Shawn last preached on Nov 1 2019 with her theme message "Spending time with God" at the Messengers of Hope Women's Retreat. Shawn leaves to mourn her loss her 'Beloved Children" who meant the world to her. Monika Singh-Hall (Son in law, Michael Hall), Tristan Singh and Torey Smith. Her Granddaughter Maia whom she loved and shared a special relationship with, Brother Melvin Jackson of Rockaway Park, Keith Campbell of Atlanta, GA, Anthony Campbell of Far Rockaway, Sisters Tiffany Campbell of Far Rockaway, Ingrid Campbell of Birmingham AL, Maruell Campbell of Birmingham AL, Tracie Campbell of Birmingham AL, Sister/Cousin India Jackson of Lakeview NY, Aunt Joyce Jackson of Rockaway Park, Uncle Mack Jackson Jr of Owings Mills, Calvin "Sammy' Jackson of Far Rockaway, Marty Jackson of Long Island NY, James Jackson(Aunt Diane Jackson) both of Freeport NY, Michael Jackson of Inwood NY, Eddie Jackson of Rockaway Park, Glen Jackson Rockaway Parkas well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Shawn was preceded in Death by her Mother Vernice 'Cookie' Jackson, Grandparents Mack and Katherine Jackson, Uncle Larry Jackson, Aunt Annette Jackson-Hamilton, and Cousin Bobby Thorpe. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Meadow Branch Cemetery, 818 Old Taneytown Road, Westminster, MD 21158.
