Jayne Margaret Maierhoffer 5/13/1934 - 4/3/2021 Jayne Margaret Maierhoffer (neé Hoffman) of Orange Park, FL, adored mother, grandmother and friend, peacefully danced her way back to God on April 3rd, 2021. A longtime resident of Orange Park, Jayne was born in Pacific, Missouri, on May 13th, 1934, the adored child of Benjamin and Margaret Hoffman. Known as Grandma, Nonna, Mrs. M, Yayne, Hurricane Jayne and Mom, Jayne was that rare kind of person who left an imprint on every life she touched. As a child growing up during World War II, Jayne learned how to be resourceful, clever and entertain all those blessed to call her family or friend. Jayne graduated from Southwest High School in St. Louis and then sought adventures around the country. Upon returning to St. Louis, Jayne married, started a family and began a career. Jayne’s spark made it easy to make and sustain friendships; with some made in kindergarten lasting her lifetime and others appreciating Jayne’s way for making life fun and interesting. Jayne had a passion for community service. Supporting her children’s interests, Jayne served on the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Civic Ballet; as Team Manager for Junior League Football and Little League Baseball teams for the many years her sons played and as Cheerleading Coordinator for those teams. Jayne modeled the importance of participating in the political process that ensures our freedom by managing local political campaigns, volunteering locally for national candidates and helping young servicemen register to vote before being deployed overseas. In Florida, Jayne was an active and very proud member of the Garden Divas of the Garden Club of Jacksonville. Following her love for football, Jayne was part of the volunteer corps for the 2005 Super Bowl held in Jacksonville, FL. In addition to her service to the community, Jayne never missed an important event in the lives of her children or grandchildren. Jayne could always be seen in the front row of dance performances, sports competitions and academic successes. Jayne committed time to Seniors on a Mission, Safe Animal Shelter and continually learning new skills at the Shepherd’s Center in Orange Park. Jayne is proceeded in death by her son, James S. Maierhoffer II. Jayne is survived by daughter Tiffany Carlson (Randy) and son John Maierhoffer (Laura). Jayne cherished her 9 grandchildren and counted them as her most precious blessings; Avary, Kendell, and Spencer Carlson of Ridgefield, CT; and Jean Marie Petty (Drew), Samuel, Thomas, Meredith, and Abigail Maierhoffer of Orange Park, FL. Jayne’s deep capacity to love extended beyond humans and if you knew Jayne, you also knew about her children Butch Cassidy and Prince Charming. A service in Green Cove Springs, FL, will take place at Broadus Raines Funeral Home on Thursday, April 8th, 2021, with visitation beginning at 5:00 pm. The service begins at 6:00 pm. led by Reverend Diller of Orange Park Presbyterian Church. A service will also be held in St. Louis, MO, at Bopp Chapel on Saturday, April 10th, 2021. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. followed by the service at 11:00 am. led by Reverend Dr. Carole Barner of Mount Tabor United Church of Christ of St. Louis, MO. Jayne will be laid to rest at Bellerive Gardens Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
