<p>John P. Sheridan, 79, of Nicholson, PA, died Sunday, April 4, 2021 at home surrounded by his family following a short battle with cancer. His wife is the former Alberta Courtright. They were married June 23, 1986.</p><p><br></p><p>Born August 11, 1941 in Lenoxville, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph and Audrey Allen Sheridan.</p><p><br></p><p>John was a graduate of Harford High School and worked at Gentex Corporation, Simpson, PA. He retired as a cutter in the local garment industry after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Clifford United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by three sons: John Sheridan and wife, Mel of Jermyn, PA, Thomas and Kevin Sheridan, both at home; three step sons: Albert Barney and William Barney, both of Scranton, PA and John Barney, III. and wife, Donna of Nicholson, PA; two step daughters: Cindy Sikora and husband, Jeff of Shickshinny, PA and Nancy Wallace and husband, Rich of Clifford Township, PA; one brother: Aubrey Sheridan and wife, Idola of Lakewood, PA; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>He was also preceded in death by a brother: Russell Sheridan; sister: Bertha Smallacombe; and grandson: Edward Young, Jr.</p><p><br></p><p>A graveside service was held Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Clifford Valley Cemetery, Main Street, Clifford, PA, officiated by Rev. Frank Bissol.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements were under the care of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford, PA.</p>Obituary
