Walter Beckett

Walter Beckett (Bill), 93, a lifelong resident of Pasadena passed away on April 1, 2021 at Glen Burnie Health & Rehab. He was born January 8, 1928 to the late George and Irene Beckett. He was a member of Mason Lodge #213 in Glen Burnie and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Pasadena. He retired from W.R. Grace after 46 years of service. He served in the Korean War in Army transportation. Bill enjoyed fishing in the Chesapeake Bay with his friends and son's and camping with his wife McCrea in their motor home. He also enjoyed bowling on a Men's Bowling Team for 50 years, and going to church on Sundays. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, McCrea F. Beckett, son Walter Gary Beckett, Daughter in law Deborah J. Beckett, 4 grandchildren (& their spouses): Amber Kurtz, Hunter Weedon, Jennifer Palazzo, Christina Weedon and 4 step grandchildren (& their spouses): Renae Lloyd, Jay Jordan, Gary Keats and Jessica Keats, and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Charles, George and Richard Beckett and his 2 sisters Evelyn Schultz and Catherine "Dutz" Tysack. He was also preceded in death by his son Linwood Weedon in 2020. A Memorial service and interment will be held at a future date at Glen Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 8615 Ft. Smallwood Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 or the National Dementia Society, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
