Jo Ann Evelyn Petty, 82, of Jefferson City passed away at her home April 3, 2021. Jo Ann was born June 26, 1938 to Glen Payne and Ruby Hendrix Payne in Russellville, Missouri. Jo Ann married Larry Petty in 1955 and worked for the State of Missouri Economic Development until her retirement in 2006. Jo Ann enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals baseball, family gatherings with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a great cook and wonderful with plants. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Larry Petty of Jefferson City; three sons Rick Petty (Jan), Kevin Petty (Brenda), Jeffrey Petty (Fran); one daughter Debbie Drummond (Paul); one daughter-in-law Karen Petty; fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, and son Doug. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Drummond officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
