Mary Louise Oldfield Napolitano, RN Teaneck, New Jersey Mary Louise Oldfield Napolitano RN, Teaneck – Mary Louise Oldfield Napolitano, 80, passed away on March 29, 2021. Mary Lou was born in Suffern, NY and attended Sacred Heart school and Suffern High School. She was an outstanding athlete and played golf, tennis and basketball, once scoring 50 points in a CYO game. She received her nursing degree from St. Vincent School of Nursing in 1962 and worked at St. Vincent’s and Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY. Mary Lou received her BA from St. Thomas Aquinas College, NY and her MA from Kansas University in 1977. She returned to NY and worked at Mt. Sinai for 20 years while continuing her education in a PhD program at Fordham. Mary Lou loved her nieces, nephews and cousins and adopted them as her own. She was always generous, loving and kind. She loved music, theater, books and a good movie. Mary Lou married the love of her life, Vincent Napolitano (West NY, NJ) in 1984. They settled in Teaneck and together they traveled to Ireland and Italy and enjoyed ocean cruises, family gatherings and many Italian restaurants. Mary Lou and Vinny were active in Holy Trinity Church, Hackensack, NJ and taught CCD. Mary Lou is predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Gertrude and her brothers, Fr. Thomas, OAR, William and Fr. Jack, OAR. She is survived by her adoring husband, Vincent, her nephew Louis Napolitano, his wife May Ann and their three children, and many loving cousins. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 4-7 PM at Scarr Funeral Home, Suffern, NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Suffern, NY with a burial immediately following at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Heart Association, New Jersey Chapter, https://www.heart.org/en/affiliates/new-jersey/new-jersey in Mary Lou’s name.
