Marcie Althea Brooks, 85, of Wooster, died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Wayne County Care Center. Graveside services will be Thursday at 10 A.M. at Sherwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Charles Tobias, where military rites will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Wooster United Methodist Church, 243 North Market St. Wooster, Ohio 44691. Marcie was born May 18, 1931 in Slab Fork, WV to Dewey B. and Lady Rachel {Niday} Pitzer. She served in the US Army where she received the National Defense, United Nations and Korean Service Medals. Marcie married William Brooks on March 19, 1955. He died May 19, 2013. She worked for the College of Wooster before retiring in 1998. Marcie was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, golf and Clog dancing. Marcie will be deeply missed by her children Pamela F. Brooks of Seville and Steven E. (Deborah) Brooks of West Salem; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother Thomas L. Pitzer of Etowah, NC; sister Lillian Mahaffey of Waldorf, MD; daughter-in-law Janet Brooks of Hartville. Marcie was preceded in death by her husband, son Alan and 2 brothers.May 18, 1931 - January 22, 201705/18/193101/22/2017
