Colchester- Doris Gladys Sterling, 89, passed away March 27, 2021 in Colchester surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born on March 22, 1932 in Burlington, and was a daughter of Henry Leffort and Gertrude (Aust) Leffort. She married Richard Sterling on August 18, 1951 at St Mark's Church in Burlington. Doris was a homemaker all of her life. She is survived by: her children, Harley (Diane) Sterling of Georgia, Robert (Becky) Sterling Champlain, New York, Aaron Sterling, of Colchester, Michael (Dory) Sterling, of Grand Isle, Pamela (Gill) Brigante, of Colchester, and Harry Sterling of Underhill; her many grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; her sister, Janice (Robert) Couture of South Carolina. She is predeceased by her spouse, Richard Sterling; father, Henry Leffort; mother, Gertrude Leffort; daughter-in-law, Sue Sterling; sister, Helene Phelps; sister, Mary Ellen Phelps; sister, Nancy Morrill; brother, Robert Leffort; grandchildren, Samantha Sterling, Ernie (Cricket) Sterling, Justin Sterling, and Robert Sterling Jr. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
