Harvey E. Doyle, 72, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 25, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. Harvey Edward Doyle was born in Sullivan, MO, July 2, 1948, to Carl and Florence (Farris) Doyle. He grew up and attended Sullivan Public Schools and graduated with the Sullivan High School class of 1967. After graduation, Harve honorably served our country in the United States Air Force between 1967 and 1971. While stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, he met the love of his life, Sharon Diehl. They were united in marriage on February 14, 1969 in Rapid City, SD. To this union, Harve and Sharon were blessed with two children, Wendy and Carl. After Harve’s honorable discharge, the couple returned to Sullivan to raise their family. Harve was employed by the Ramsey Corporation, while also attending classes at East Central College towards a business degree. For much of his life, Harve had a strong desire to own his own business. In 1983, he fulfilled his dream when he and Sharon opened their custom drapery business, “Drapes and Things”. They enjoyed working together over the years and were committed to providing quality products and experience. After operating their business for over 33 years, Harve retired in December of 2016 due to ill health. In 2010, Harve went to work for the Eaton Funeral Home, where he served in various roles. Harve had been an active member of Temple Baptist Church since 1990, where he served as a deacon, was on the board of directors and personnel committee, and served as the Director of the MRT Program. Due to his love of cooking and entertaining, he co-hosted the Wednesday evening meals for over 20 years. Through the years, Harve was also committed to helping the pastor during baptisms. Harve will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many. Harve is survived by his wife, Sharon; a daughter, Wendy Appel and husband Dale of Winfield, MO; a son, Carl Doyle and wife Sarah of O’Fallon, MO; his five grandchildren: Jonathan, Thomas, Matthew, Kate and Will; a sister, Sharon Fischer of Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christian Omoresemi; his parents, Carl and Florence Doyle; his beloved grandparents: Harve and Bertha Doyle; and a brother, Jerry Doyle. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, with Pastor Scott Perry officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Old Cave Spring Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Harve’s memory may be given to Temple Baptist Church MRT Program and/or “Whatever It Takes”.
