Mrs. Lois Juanita Shanks, of Crockett, age 91, passed away in the Houston County Nursing Home on Friday, March 27, 2015. Mrs. Shanks was born in Percilla, Texas to Robert F. Rich and Clara Susan Foster on August 20, 1923. She was a bookkeeper at the State School in Crockett for many years, member of the Texas Employee Retirement Association, Chairman for the Muse Cemetery Association, and an active member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Currie, and Laverne Colson and husband, Kenneth; daughter-in-law, Karen McLeod; grandchildren, Gary Currie and wife, Karen, David Currie and wife, Kim, Craig Currie and wife, Heather, Ken Colson and wife, JoAnn, Jeffrey Colson and wife, Mary Jane, Michele Gordon and husband, Willis, Chris McLeod, Eric McLeod and wife, Monica, Melissa Curley and husband, Michael, Alysia West and husband, Justin, Allison Herrick and husband, Jeff, April Deaton and husband, Josh, Lindsey Jones and husband, Dennis, Ashley Hughes and husband, Ryan, and Cory McLeod; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Tyer; brothers, R.C. "Tut" Rich, and Edd Rich; numerous other loving relatives and friends. Mrs. Shanks was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Talmadge Shanks; and son, James Michael McLeod.Funeral Services for Mrs. Lois Juanita Shanks will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. W.D. Thomason officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.CALLAWAY-ALLEE FUNERAL HOME
