Susie Rill Walsh passed away peacefully at her home in Hampstead Friday, March 19, 2021 at the age of 95. Born in Hampstead on January 29, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Richard Rill and Treva (Schaeffer) Rill. She was the wife of the late Arthur Robert Walsh, who died in 1982. Susie attended the Shiloh one room schoolhouse until it closed in 1939, then went to Hampstead School where she was graduated in 1942. She was one of the original founding members of Calvary Bible Church. She attended Westminster Bible Church, First Assembly and Calvary Bible Church, all of Westminster. She often played the piano and organ at church and was a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed following politics and an avid reader of bible prophecy. Susie was dedicated to her Family and worked alongside of her husband on the family farm growing many acres of tomatoes, etc. She also helped on the family owned sawmill. Surviving are her children, Thomas Eugene Walsh and wife Brenda of Hampstead, James Robert Walsh and wife Sheila of Hampstead, Loretta Walsh Speck and husband Bruce of The Villages, Florida, Rebecca Ann Dan-Walsh and husband Joseph Dan-Walsh of Bucharest Romania, David Michael Walsh and wife Cheryl of Hampstead, Steven Patrick Walsh and wife Shirly of Manchester, Christina Carol Walsh of Towson, and Cindy Walsh Shank and husband Jack of Hanover, Pennsylvania; step-children, Winifred Walsh O’Conner and husband William, and E. Merrit Walsh; step-daughter in law, Clara Walsh; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by son, Arthur Richard Walsh; brothers, Laten and Henry Rill; sister, Catherine West; step-son, Francis E. Walsh; step-daughter in law, Joyce Irene Walsh; and step-grandchild, Eric Walsh. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. The family will also receive friends Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Susie's granddaughter, the Rev. V. Ashley Garland will officiate. Interment will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Cemetery in Hampstead.
