Olaf Knutson
Olaf L. Knutson passed away Sept 26, 2014 at Bethany Meadows Oak Cottage, Camrose, AB. He was born Aug 28, 1922 in Torquay, SK to Steinar & Elise Knutson. He is survived by Marge, his loving wife of 40 years; children Larry, Sharalyn, Julie, Laura, Calvin, Daryl & Donna; step children Bill, Gilbert, Louis & Darrell; 28 grandchildren & several great grandchildren; sisters Annie Swerhone, Ethel Hanson , Helen Holth & Delores Sogge. He is predeceased by his parents; Clara, his first wife of 25 years; brothers Carl, Elmer, Arnold and sisters Inga & Nina. Olaf grew up on his parent’s farm in Torquay, SK. He met Clara when he attended the Saskatchewan Lutheran Bible Institute. They raised their seven children in neighboring towns between Estevan & Weyburn. Clara passed away in April 1969 after a short struggle with cancer. In 1974 Olaf married Marge Dalby and welcomed her sons into his family. He often enjoyed introducing his sons Larry, Daryl & his other son Darrell. During their working years, they enjoyed living in various locations around the Edmonton area. In their spare time they enjoyed camping around the province or attending family Bible camps. They retired to Camrose, focusing on floor curling, church, Senior’s Ministry , teaching Bible studies and board games with their friends. They often commented that they were busier now, when retired, than they were when they were working! The family expresses heartfelt gratitude & thanks to the staff at Stoney Creek Lodge & Bethany Meadows. Their loving support & care is deeply appreciated. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Weber’s Mount Pleasant Chapel in Camrose, AB with Pastor Cliff Stalwick officiating. A time of fellowship will follow at Weber’s Reception Hall. An Interment Service will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Kingman Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Living Faith Evangelistic Association or to Far East Broadcasting Canada.September 26, 201409/26/2014
