Karen J. Osterhout, 80, passed away March 15, 2021. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm, Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Iles Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at a later date. Karen was born December 14, 1940 to Maynard and Lorraine Ward of Dallas Center, Iowa. She graduated from Dallas Center High School in 1959. Karen had lived in Grimes, Iowa for 50 years, where she raised her six children. She worked as a home health care worker for several years before retiring. Karen enjoyed playing cards and board games, watching tennis, the Chicago Cubs and ice skating. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. Karen is survived by her children, Vallerie (Luis) Delgado, Vicki Manning, Corey (Janet) Osterhout, Robert Osterhout and Ryan (Juanita) Osterhout; 14 grandchildren, Justin Osterhout, Vanessa Osterhout, Bailey Osterhout, Matthew Jamison, Amanda Bronemann, Jennifer Osterhout, Brandy Bronemann, Meghan Drake, Alexa Nielsen, Dillion Eckerman, DeSerae Osterhout, Logan Osterhout, Erik Evans, Payton Osterhout and Piper Faux; 14 great grandchildren, Kaden Wheeler, Cloe Wood, Dominic Osterhout, Christian Stevens, Soren Bjorenson, Kensleigh Ruedy, Reagan Bjorenson, Elias Osterhout, Kaeley Osterhout, Brody Booth, Memphis Walczyk, Charlay Pearl, Tristan Long and Cohen Nelson; brother, Frank (Alyce) Ward; niece, Barbara and nephew, Gregory. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Crystal Colby; siblings, Fred Ward and Carma Ward; a great grandchild, Legion DeWitt and nephews, Bruce Hall and Michael Ward.
