Robert A. Scofield

<p>Rob&nbsp;Scofield passed away on March 11, 2021.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>He was born in Norwalk, CT, to Margaret and Carleton&nbsp;Scofield and lived in Denver for the past forty years.&nbsp; He passed away peacefully with his wife Jane and brother-in-law Bob by his side.&nbsp;&nbsp;&quot;Rob may have lost his struggle with melanoma, but he won in the game of life&quot; said a good friend.</p> <p>Rob earned his BA at Bates College in 1962, his MBA from Rutgers in 1963 and his CFP at the College of Financial Planning. While in the Navy, he earned the Vietnam Service Medal and Ribbon, as well as the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a Captain in the Naval Reserves and volunteered for the Naval Academy.&nbsp; He was a former trustee of the Colorado Symphony and a volunteer for the Denver Museum of Nature &amp; Science.&nbsp; Other volunteer&nbsp;activities included&nbsp;fundraising for &quot;Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves &quot; and for&nbsp;Bates College.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>He retired in 2008 after working as a financial consultant for Wells Fargo Advisors for 25 years following his early years at&nbsp;Oppenheimer Funds&nbsp;and Computech Systems.</p> <p>His hobbies included skiing, hiking, sailing, gardening and traveling. Rob&nbsp;and his wife, Jane, travelled the world&nbsp;visiting six continents.&nbsp; Rob was known&nbsp;for his laugh, his sense of humor, and his integrity. He was a great friend and&nbsp;loved the arts and music. He was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist in Aurora, CO where he served as Chairman of the Board, and on&nbsp;the Building Committee.&nbsp;</p> <p>Rob is survived by his beloved wife, Jane;&nbsp;his sister Joanie and her husband&nbsp;Brooks&nbsp;Benjamin of St. Louis, MO; his nephew Andrew &amp; Lauren Scofield and their daughter Juliet of Menifee, CA; his brothers-in-law Bob&nbsp;&amp; Mariah Stubbs and Randall &amp; Lorie&nbsp;Stubbs of Denver, CO,&nbsp;Jane&#39;s brother Fell and Barbara Stubbs of Tampa,&nbsp;FL; Nieces and nephews Jeff &amp; Lala Ryan, Will and Sita Ryan, Benjamin Ryan, Mitchell Stubbs, Graham &amp; Allie Stubbs, Stewart &amp; Lauren Stubbs, Meghan Stubbs and Travis Stubbs.&nbsp; Rob had a special place in his heart for godson Bailey Connor and &quot;nephews&quot; Drew &amp; Geoff Wade and their families.&nbsp; He was pre-deceased by his brother David and Carolyn Scofield of San Diego, CA.&nbsp;</p> <p>Donations in his name can be made to the Colorado Symphony Association: 1000 14th Street, #15 | Denver, CO 80202.</p> <p>Services will be at a later date.&nbsp;</p>

Obituary

Rob Scofield passed away on March 11, 2021.  

He was born in Norwalk, CT, to Margaret and Carleton Scofield and lived in Denver for the past forty years.  He passed away peacefully with his wife Jane and brother-in-law Bob by his side.  "Rob may have lost his struggle with melanoma, but he won in the game of life" said a good friend.

Rob earned his BA at Bates College in 1962, his MBA from Rutgers in 1963 and his CFP at the College of Financial Planning. While in the Navy, he earned the Vietnam Service Medal and Ribbon, as well as the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a Captain in the Naval Reserves and volunteered for the Naval Academy.  He was a former trustee of the Colorado Symphony and a volunteer for the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.  Other volunteer activities included fundraising for "Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves " and for Bates College.  

He retired in 2008 after working as a financial consultant for Wells Fargo Advisors for 25 years following his early years at Oppenheimer Funds and Computech Systems.

Rob is survived by his beloved wife, Jane; his sister Joanie and her husband Brooks Benjamin of St. Louis, MO; his nephew Andrew & Lauren Scofield and their daughter Juliet of Menifee, CA; his brothers-in-law Bob & Mariah Stubbs and Randall & Lorie Stubbs of Denver, CO, Jane's brother Fell and Barbara Stubbs of Tampa, FL; Nieces and nephews Jeff & Lala Ryan, Will and Sita Ryan, Benjamin Ryan, Mitchell Stubbs, Graham & Allie Stubbs, Stewart & Lauren Stubbs, Meghan Stubbs and Travis Stubbs.  Rob had a special place in his heart for godson Bailey Connor and "nephews" Drew & Geoff Wade and their families.  He was pre-deceased by his brother David and Carolyn Scofield of San Diego, CA.
