Vickey Sue Lopez Millbury, Ohio Obituary

Vickey Sue Lopez

Vickey S. Lopez, 62 of Martin, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Vickey was born in Fremont, Ohio, on December 19, 1958, to Gilbert M. and Lupe (Castilleja) Ramirez. She married her lifelong sweetheart, Jorge, in 1977. Vickey was a member of CedarCreek Church. Vickey was always up to having a good time! She loved going to the casino and was there way more than we realized. According to her, Hollywood VIP stood for “Vickey in Person.” Vickey was also lucky in NFL and college football picks, often going with a feeling more than stats. She would’ve hit the big jackpot if someone wouldn’t have changed her slip! Vickey was great at Fantasy Football and had winning teams in the Lopez Bowl. She rooted for The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Genoa Comets. In addition to football, Vickey loved wrestling! You could hear her on the sidelines yelling at her sons, Tony and Juan, and the refs. After her sons graduated, she and Jorge continued to go to the OHSAA Wrestling Tournament in Columbus to cheer on the local kids. Vickey was definitely looking forward to the days that her grandsons Macerio, Johnny Juan, and Emilio would wrestle. You could always find Vickey on the sidelines of her grandkids’ events. She’d be at cheerleading events to watch Veronica and soccer games to cheer on Gabriela. Vickey enjoyed playing softball when she was younger and had a great arm. Tony said that no matter how fast he ran, his mom always got him when she threw her chancla. Vickey and Jorge liked fishing together and would have a fish fry for the family. She was an amazing cook and usually had dinner ready on Mondays for all her kids and grandkids. If you couldn’t make it, she’d send home a take-out container full of food. Vickey and Sahvanna would take Kitana, Macerio, and the other grandkids to Cedar Point, Soak City, and Kalahari. Vickey also cherished spending time with her sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews. She’d be there for cookouts, dinners, and parties. It didn’t matter the occasion; she was there to spend time with her family, enjoy the food, have a few beers, and listen to Motown. Vickey absolutely loved her family with all her heart and will always be absolutely loved by them. Although our hearts are broken, we know Vickey is finally reunited with her beautiful daughter Veronica and her parents. We’re going to miss you, Willis! Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Jorge; children, Antonio (Zulema), Juan (Marissa), Sahvanna Lopez; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Antonio Jr., Jason, Veronica, Gabriela, Angelita, Kitana, Macerio, Juan Jr., Emilio; great grandson, Gabriel; siblings, Raul, Sally, Sylvia, Rick, Tim. Vickey was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Veronica. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 19, at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, Ohio, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Clay Township Cemetery.
