Edythe Loverna Barton
On Sunday, August 25, 2013 Edythe Loverna Barton of Pierceland, Saskatchewan, recently at Points West, Cold Lake, Alberta passed peacefully at the age of 99 years. Edythe was born in Loverna, SK on June 15, 1914. She was a true pioneer. She came north to join her family in Beacon Hill in 1933, and lived the rest of her life in Loon Lake and the Pierceland area. Memories of Edythe will be cherished by her four children: Sheila (Andrew) Ewanchuk of Toronto, ON, Lee (Lucille) Barton of Edmonton, AB, Delaney Barton of Whitehorse, YT, Vern (Cathy) Barton of Edmonton, AB; three sisters: Tret Paton of Vernon, BC, Cora Yurko of Pierceland, SK, Bernice Mills of Vernon, BC; sister-in-law: Madge Foss of Pierceland, SK; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; ten great -great grandchildren. Edythe was predeceased by her husband: Archibald Barton in 1992; parents: Sophia Foss 1971 & John Foss in 1975; daughter: Marty Cross in 1997; grandson: David Ewanchuk in 1994; two brothers: Bud (Iva) Foss & Ken Foss; two sisters: Lorene (Walter) Pikowicz & Verne Foss; three brothers-in-law: Jack Yurko, Jim Paton and Don Mills. A time of remembering Edythe will take place Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Pierceland Community Hall, Pierceland, SK.
