Donald Vurel McGee of Jacksonville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at his home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on August 4, 1943 in East Alton Illinois to Vurel and Irene (Greer) McGee whom both preceded him in death. Donald is survived by his wife, Jane (Damron) McGee; children, Timothy McGee and companion Mary McGee, Donna Huner and companion Aaron Barger, Theresa Caton and husband Todd, Casey McGee, Cody Ehrhart and wife Heather, Kelsey King and husband Justin, Kyle Damron and Clint Damron; grandchildren, Tyler Mason and wife Kayla, Nicole Roberts husband Eric, Kayla Huner-Waymire husband Craig, Paige Parsons, Savanna Parsons, Caelan McGee and fiancé Jess Dorsett, Bryce McGee, Rylie Caton, Denver Caton, Avery Caton, Sadie Ehrhart, Lydia Ehrhart, Preston Ehrhart, Ocie King; great grandchildren, Kyler Mason, Felicity Mason, Parker Roberts, Brooklyn Roberts, Kinley Waymire; two brothers, Tom McGee of Missouri and Kenneth McGee of Colorado. Donald graduated from East Alton Wood River Community High School in 1961. Soon after graduation he joined the Navy and served active duty from August of 1961 to March of 1965 and served in the reserves until 1967. He was a life long member of the VFW 1379. Dedicated to his career, he worked as an Energy Consultant for the State of Illinois Department of Commence and Community affairs for many years and founded (APEC) The Association of Professional Energy Consultants. Donald was a loving father who enjoyed his family, was full of witty comments and enjoyed weekend trips and golf. Donald's wishes were for Cremation H20 a service provided by A Simplified Funeral Solution of Green Castle, Missouri. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to VFW 1379 and entrusted to A Simplified Funeral Solution PO Box 57 Green Castle, MO 63544.
