William Chris White

On Tuesday, March 9, 2021, William Chris White, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of sixty-eight. Chris was born on August 9, 1952, in Portsmouth, Virginia to William McKitrick White and Wanda June White. Chris accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in elementary school and strived to live a life in which the love and compassion of Christ were evident. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Chris received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He married the love of his life, Wendy Kay McLaughlin, in 1976. Chris worked as a pharmacist in the Indian Health Service in Eagle Butte, South Dakota and New Town, North Dakota. While in the Dakotas, Chris & Wendy had three beautiful children: Christina Kay, Brian Chris, & Kristen Michelle. In 1987, Chris and his family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he received two Master's Degrees in Divinity and Religious Education. When Katrina devastated New Orleans, Chris & Wendy moved to Dry Prong, Louisiana, and then Minden, Louisiana but finally came home to Hollis, Oklahoma in 2014. Chris loved his wife, children, grandkids, and extended family. He was very forgiving and said he loved you every time you spoke to him. He gave his grandchildren bible verses to look up and taught them every animal sound he could. He enjoyed the bible studies he was a part of and believed so much in the development of discipleship within the church. He loved his music and his TV. He asked pointed questions. He listened with an open and nonjudgemental ear. He loved his Lord. William Chris White is survived by his wife, Wendy White; his mother, Wanda June White; his brother James White and wife Young Sil; his daughter Christina Savage and husband Jonathan Jay; his son Brian White and wife Jessica May; his daughter Kristen Thompson and husband Eden Chase; grandchildren, Adele, Ezra, and Elisha Thompson; extended family and friends.
