Donna Snead Obituary

Donna M. Snead, 69, of Keosauqua, Iowa passed away on May 13, 2020 at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield, Iowa. She was born on October 13, 1950 in Dumont, Iowa to William and Frieda Westendorf Funk and was also raised by C.R. and Regina Witmer. She married James Snead on July 2, 1977 in Shimek Forest. Donna was retired, but spent her career working as a Quality Control Coordinator for Riverside Plastics. She loved to bake and often woke up early in the morning to bake donuts for several businesses and community organizations. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed making greeting cards and tending to her flower gardens. Donna was known for her big heart and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, James of Keosauqua; two daughters, Elizabeth (Mike) Koenig of Cameron, Missouri, Jennifer (Jeremy) Erdmann of Floris, Iowa; 2 stepsons, James (Carrie) Snead Jr. of Keosauqua, Joe Snead of Keosauqua; 2 stepdaughters, Melissa Harward of Keosauqua, Melinda (Randy) Danielson of Keosauqua; 11 grandchildren, Alex Snead, Curtis Oliver, Anna Snead, Lacey Snead, Isabelle Snead, Landon Harward, Tyler Danielson, Ethan Erdmann, Owen Erdmann, Nicholas Koenig, Deryck Koenig; 3 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings, Everette (Sharon) Funk, Chester (Lori) Funk, Marjorie Jackson, Dorothy (Richard) Schnoor, Jean (Harold) Rarick; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Frieda Funk, C.R. and Regina Witmer; 2 grandchildren, Hannah and Jackson Harward; and 9 siblings, Jerry Funk, Delores Kaiser, Robert Funk, Theresa Funk, Bill Funk, Jim Funk, Catherine Thorndyke, Sara Barton, and Bob Witmer. Per Donna's wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Pittsburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Donna's honor may be made to Pittsburg Cemetery or Indian Hills Culinary Arts Program for development of a scholarship and can be mailed to 17512 185th Rd, Keosauqua, Iowa 52565.
