Stephen Chua Markham, Ontario Obituary

Stephen Chua

Stephen, Yang Liang Chua comes across as a being of multiple roles. The roles he displayed, is as in the eye of the beholder. Stephen would be that being, who understood and help achieve other’s desires, need, or want. Allowance, acceptance, and focused attention to listen with openness of mind, heart, and soul, providing individual a safe place and peaceful. He was born in Singapore, but his extensive adventures, life experiences were not confined to Singapore as he travelled extensively to various countries on business, work, and pleasure. He shared his knowledge, wisdom, expertise wherever he was. When he was in the military, he believed and practiced that not a single person be left behind. He was a true leader, he practiced what he preached. He was an inspiration to his fellow solders. Besides being in the battlefield, he was flying to various countries providing humanitarian assistance, especially those areas where the government officials were corrupt and in other cases, surrounded by bandits. I have witnessed his “Leadership, Guide, Mentorship”. He loved banking and finance. He negotiated with business individuals successfully, for both parties with the “win, win” outcome. He mentored the youth entrepreneurs at the YMCA Business Centre in Markham for many years. His leadership, mentorship, guidance and writing contribution to the COFN (Canada One Family Network) in Markham was a stupendous highlight. He was a natural born writer; ghost writing skill was amazing. It extends beyond to writing lyrics, he plays guitar beautifully and sing as well. When he passed away, he was writing his life story. Perseverance was what allowed him to overcome every day’s health challenges, but he continued with a “smile”. He made others lighthearted and happy with his humours and funny jokes. One of his friends from Connecting Conscious mentioned, how she hears his laughter, and remember his incredible resilience for life. Stephen’s connection with Mother Earth is reverence and compassion, he found solace and bliss. For guidance and protection, it was his maternal grandma, whom he adored, loved, revered, and trusted. He touched so many lives all around the world, he will be greatly missed! I will always treasure his friendship, he remains my best friend, who showed me compassion and love. Loving Kindness.
